Have you ever wanted to share the joy your dog gives you with others? Becoming a therapy dog team will help you do that. This class will prepare dog and handler for the components of testing and participating in therapy dog visits so that you can go on to become a registered Therapy Dog Team through a national organization. This course is ideal for handlers and dogs that have been working together on obedience and good manners, and who enjoy meeting new people. It will cover all paperwork, medical and equipment requirements for a therapy dog team and will work on the “real world” behavior and handling skills that are a must for therapy dog team volunteer work. A mock therapy dog team test will be administered as part of the course.
